From canals and stately city parks to the gardens of chic monumental buildings. This originally Danish bench exudes so much class and nostalgia that we thought it was time for an affordable version. From now on you can create your own however you want it to be!
The bench frames are hand-cast in one of the last iron foundries in Europe, not one frame is therefor the same. You can decide yourself what kind of wood you want to use and what length you want the bench to be.

The charm of rust formation that occurs on cast iron, is an interesting phenomenon. While rust is generally seen as a sign of decay, in the case of cast iron it actually adds an aesthetic element. Many people appreciate the weathered, rusty look of cast iron items, especially in outdoor settings. This natural oxidation process creates a nostalgic and vintage feel.
Tip from us:
For a bench of 125 cm wide you will need the following wood:
1x backrest 120 cm x 16 cm and 2,5 cm. For the seat you will need 3 x 120 cm x 11 cm x 2,5 cm.
Extra information
Material
The cast iron bench legs for our garden benches are newly produced, but according to the traditional method. It is still done by using liquid iron which is poured into old sand moulds. These old moulds are unique and handmade. Cast iron is not dimensionally stable, not one bench frame is the same and not one garden bench is 100 percent straight.
The bench frames have been given a standard black layer of paint but can already show some rust once received. Funnily enough, rust can actually act as a protective layer for the cast iron underneath. It forms a barrier against further oxidation and can even protect the material from further corrosion.
In case you do not want rust on your cast-iron bench legs, you can easily touch them up or completely paint them with Hammerite.

Delivery
These cast-iron garden bench legs will be delivered in a parcel with the following measurements: 100 x 80 x 20 cm and weighs 22 kg.
This product will be delivered with DPD. DPD will come to your door once. Are you not at home and is it not possible to deliver your parcel at your neighbours? Depending on the size and weight of your parcel, it will either be offered to you again or it will go to a parcel shop.
Would you like to leave a comment to the driver (for example that you doorbell does not work or that it can be delivered to the neighbours)? Then please leave a note at your front door. Unfortunately it is not possible for us to hand the driver extra information before delivery. If you would like to know more about DPD, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Assembly
The assembly of the Prinsengracht garden bench is very simple and can be done with just a socket spanner or open-end spanner set and takes just 20 minutes with two people.
