Make your own (coffee) table!

Whether you are dining with the family at the table or playing a board game with friends, enjoying a relaxing evening with a good book on the couch or setting your snacks there during a movie night, the dining table and coffee table play a crucial role in our lives. So it's a great piece of furniture to add your own style.

Do you like it round, square or rectangular? Do you go for black, stylish teak or a tabletop with a trendy print? Plenty of choice in our range of table tops. Several tops can be used both indoors and outdoors, such as our teak and HPL tops.

And when you have found the table top of your choice, you can go wild about choosing the table legs. Because when it comes to table legs and frames, we also have different materials and styles to choose from. For example, will you go for a very sleek industrial dining table or a modern marble-look coffee table?

Wood, veneer or HPL top

MaximaVida has table tops of different materials such as wood, veneer and HPL in its range. Whereas many coffee tables are made with roughly sawn mango wood, we have deliberately chosen beautiful teak and A-grade pinewood veneer.

Veneer is a thin layer of wood applied to sheet material. Because veneer is made of real wood, it cannot be distinguished from solid wood. Veneer is a natural product, so no two coffee table tops are the same, but the top is easy to keep clean.

Our teak table tops are handmade and therefore unique. The teak used may vary in colour. All our teak products come directly from the factory. It is therefore possible that some fine sawdust from the sanding process remains on the teak table top. Therefore, before using our teak products, clean the product with a wet cloth.

The teak table top is untreated and will eventually turn a beautiful grey. If you do not like this, you can treat it with our hardwood oil. If you use our teak products indoors, it is also wise to treat them with oil. This largely prevents staining from glasses or pans.

The table tops with trendy prints are made of the low-maintenance material HPL. We have these tabletops in 3 different prints; a wooden herringbone pattern, which can hardly be distinguished from real wood, a trendy black marble look and a terrazzo print.

High pressure lamination (HPL) is a material that combines the advantages of wood and plastic. HPL consists of layers of paper and wood that are impregnated with resin. Curing the resin creates a hard, very easy-to-clean surface. HPL is therefore widely used in catering establishments but also for kitchen worktops and building façades. It gives you the trendy look of real wood but without the disadvantages. HPL tops can also easily be used outdoors.

Make your own coffee table

Making your own coffee table with our loose leaves is a fun and easy DIY project. Make sure you are well prepared and your coffee table will be in your living room in no time. Measure the sizes well in advance, so you know it will fit, and make sure you have all the materials before you actually get started.

Most of our coffee table frames already include the assembly kit in the box. Check this before you get started so you have the right screws. Our HPL table tops are 12 mm thick. This 12 mm plus the thickness of the mounting plate of your frame is the desired length of the screw to be used. Take a margin of 3 mm to make sure you don't screw through the top and don't forget to pre-drill. For extra strength, you can also use mounting kit between the mounting plate and the top.

Tip: the easiest way to attach HPL table tops to a (coffee table) frame is with M3 double-sided tape. With just a few pieces of tape, your table top is firmly attached.

With these steps and tips, you can create a coffee table that suits your needs and interior perfectly in no time!

Choose table legs or a coffee table frame

Especially for the DIY enthusiast, you can also order the coffee table frames and table legs separately. You can finally use that beautiful old top or get to work with mosaic tiles to create your own unique coffee table. We have various frames in different sizes and shapes, so there is something for everyone!

We also have table legs in all shapes and sizes. Are you going for the industrial style with tough, simple elements in your interior? Then create your own dining table with our New York legs or Boston legs, both with an industrial look. Do you prefer cosiness? Then a round table might suit you. Use our Portland table leg, available in rust brown, black and olive green, so there is always a colour that matches your interior.

Love furniture with a story? Then take a look at our hairpin legs. These legs originated just after the Second World War in the United States. Designer Henry P. Glass invented them to make garden furniture, but the design was picked up worldwide by the furniture industry. Decades later, hairpin legs are still found in many different interiors.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to order or reserve an item if it is out of stock.

Where can I find the dimensions of an item?

You can find the dimensions of our products on the bottom left of the product detail page under the tab Product features. Are you looking for the dimensions of the packaging? Then look under Extra Information under Delivery for the exact dimensions.

Can I also collect my order?

It is also possible to collect your order at our pick-up point in Groenlo. After you have placed your order through our webshop, you will receive an email from us once your order is ready for pick-up. Don’t forget to bring lashing straps, blankets and other materials to get you newly purchased items home without being damaged.

How do I know if my order will fit in my car?

You have chosen to collect your order from us in Groenlo. To be sure whether the item you ordered will fit in your car or whether you need to arrange a trailer, we have listed the dimensions and weight of the package in the "extra information" tab next to the product. So please check beforehand whether the box/boxes will fit to avoid disappointment.

Where can I find the assembly instructions of an article?

We have created assembly instructions for most items. You will find these at the bottom left of the product detail page under the Assembly Instructions tab. For some articles we have also made an assembly instruction video. You will find these under the same tab.
