Trend: Taupe

The new natural colour in our Max collection!

Taupe: calm, but anything but boring

Calm, warm and surprisingly bold. Taupe is one of those colours that blends effortlessly into its surroundings. Among greenery, wood, stone and flowers, this natural shade instantly feels at home. And because taupe is so easy to combine, it is the perfect new colour for our Max collection.

If you love calm interiors, natural colours and simplicity, the Japandi style is a natural fit. Japandi combines Japanese Zen with Scandinavian minimalism. According to VTwonen, a Japandi garden is all about peace and simplicity, with a strong focus on nature. Natural materials such as wood and stone play an important role, while the colour palette mainly consists of white, grey, beige and soft earthy tones, combined with the green of plants.

At MaximaVida, we love colour. Not just bright and bold, but also stylish, understated or earthy. Colour is a way to give your garden, terrace or balcony personality. Because outdoors is not just a backdrop. It is a place to live. For that first coffee in the sun, a spontaneous lunch, drinks that last just a little longer, or simply a quiet moment to yourself. Our furniture is made to be part of it.

New: the Max collection in taupe

That is why we are adding a new colour to our Max collection: taupe.

Taupe sits somewhere between grey and brown. Not cool grey, not distinctly brown, but exactly that warm, natural middle ground. That makes it incredibly easy to combine. And that is precisely why Max taupe feels so at home in a Japandi setting. The warm, understated shade blends beautifully with greenery and natural materials, bringing a sense of calm to your outdoor space.

On a terrace with light-coloured tiles, taupe creates a calm and balanced look. Surrounded by lots of greenery, it takes on a bolder, more natural character. And next to wood, concrete or natural stone, taupe feels as though it has always belonged there.

That makes taupe perfect for outdoor living. It does not need to demand all the attention, yet it still gives your garden, terrace or balcony plenty of atmosphere and character. The clean, simple design of our Max furniture fits that look perfectly.

How to combine taupe outdoors

Taupe creates a natural base with a little edge. It looks beautiful on its own, but in our opinion it becomes even more interesting when combined with other colours.

Try mixing taupe with terracotta and ivory, for example. Together, these three colours create an outdoor space that feels calm and natural, without ever becoming boring.

Taupe provides the quiet base, ivory adds lightness and freshness, and terracotta brings warmth and character. Because all three colours have a warm, natural undertone, they blend effortlessly with each other and with the greenery in your garden.

We also see this balance between calm and colour reflected at VTwonen. In the Spicy Japandi trend, a subtle palette combined with natural materials such as wood, stone, linen and rattan forms the calm foundation. Warmth and energy are then added through spicy shades such as ochre yellow, sea green and burnt orange.

That is exactly the kind of contrast we love for outdoor spaces. A calm base does not mean everything has to be the same colour.

One Max collection, your own colour mix

That is why it is so important to us that the colours within the Max collection work well together. From picnic tables and garden sets to individual chairs, benches, tables and bistro sets, you do not have to stick to just one colour.

Two chairs around the table today, a bench added tomorrow and perhaps a different colour on the other side next season. Mixing is allowed. In fact, we encourage it.

Taupe does not shout for attention. And perhaps that is exactly its strength.

It blends effortlessly with greenery and natural materials, brings calm to your outdoor space and can be combined endlessly. With ivory for a light, natural look. With terracotta for warmth and character. Or simply mix all three together.

So mix your Max. Pull up a seat. And make the outdoors your own.

MaximaVida. Outsiders for life.
