Our black chair Maximus is inspired on the well know Smaland chairs by Yngve Ekstrom (1913-1988). The Swedisch architect, woodworker and furniture designer from Hagafors, started working in the oldest furniture factory of Sweden, the Hagafors Stol Fabric, at the age of 13.
The elegant shape of the Maximus chair shows classic simplicity, and the rustic vintage design gives a typical Scandinavian look. Because of its modern look, the Maximus dining chair will feel at home in nearly every dining room, living room or bedroom!
The rich history of this chair combined with the elegant shapes were a reason for us to breathe new life into this classic chair. Maximus is, besides black, also available in the colours ivory, light green, soft grey, clear varnish and in soft pink.
