Inspiration
At MaximaVida, we are always looking for ways to add colour and make our products even more special. A few years ago, we had our own colourful print designed especially for MaximaVida. We found the inspiration for this print in Buenos Aires, where many colourful murals can be found, as you can see in the photos.
The colours of our print are based on the colours of our metal garden furniture line. You can already find the print on our site and our customer cards, but our quiet wish was to also design our own cushion line with this, which would perfectly match all our coloured garden furniture. Because together we give life colour, of course ;-)
Visiting factory in Casablanca
Earlier this year at the international furniture fair in Cologne, we met a supplier with an inspiring story. The account manager of this family company impressed us immediately with his product knowledge and years of experience in the textile industry. There was an instant click and we knew we could create something special together. First, we kept in touch via e-mail and sent some ideas back and forth.
In September '24, we visited their factory in Casablanca. It was a visit that exceeded our expectations. The entire team took extensive time to show us around the factory. And what struck us most was how they have complete control over the entire production process. This means that they not only make the fabrics, but also produce the foam for the cushions.
From grains to cushion: the production process
It all starts with polypropylene granules. These are processed into yarns, which are then woven into a sturdy and durable fabric. But it doesn't stop there! The fabric is given a colourful print and a special coating, making the cushions water-repellent. Ideal for outdoor use, as a summer rain shower is no longer a problem.
The comfort of our cushions is guaranteed by the foam filling, which is produced in the same factory. Many cheaper cushions are filled with foam, which sags over time and offers little comfort. This D24 high density foam is combined with siliconised hollow fibres. The siliconised fibres are specially treated with silicone oil, which provides extra shape retention and a luxurious look. So you can enjoy a pillow that keeps its shape and offers comfort for longer!

Besides the impressive production process, we were also struck by the focus on sustainability. The factory works as efficiently as possible to minimise waste and deliver high-quality products. This fits perfectly with our mission to offer not only beautiful, but also responsible furniture and accessories.
