For more than 75 years, the adirondack chair is a very well-known chair in the United Stated and Canada. In those days, the rich industrials from New York had a country residence in the beautiful natural park Adirondack. In the summertime they came here with their families to enjoy the countryside. In the wintertime their staff didn’t have many jobs to do, so in the winter of 1929 some carpenters designed the adirondack chair. The name of the area, became the name of the chair.
Nowadays you can see this chair everywhere; from the beaches of Ibiza to the terrasses of a log cabin in Canada.

Material
Our original Adirondack chair has a curved backrest that is made from 7 wood compartments (7 slat back) and is made out of mahogany. Especially for the European market, many Adirondack chairs are made out of cedar or even impregnated spruce wood. Unfortunately, these types of wood are not strong enough for the construction of the Adirondack chair.
Our SGS-certified mahogany wood is one of the most sustainable kind of wood that exists. It is famous for its beautiful brown colouring that can vary from dark brown (heartwood) to light brown (outer ring).
Characteristic features of a natural product, the rue wood lovers adore it! Please take the colour differences into consideration and get informed well (before purchase!) to prevent disappointment.
Wood is a hygroscopic material that adjusts itself to the climate of its environment. This results in a continuously change of the moisture content and the volume of the wood. This can lead to crack and irregularities in the wood. It is therefore not possible to guarantee these natural features of wood.
Please keep the typical features of wood in mind when you decide to purchase garden furniture that is made from this beautiful product of nature. When you dont want colour differences, cracks or irregularities in your chair, then it might be best not to choose this product of nature, wood. Aluminium or polywood garden furniture will meet your expectations better.
Our chairs have made a long journey before they arrived in our warehouse. To protect the chairs from drying out, they have been treated with linseed oil. This can result in staining on the carboard packaging that is around your furniture. It is nothing to worry about, this has everything to do with the care that we spent on our furniture. The oil will wash away after a few showers.
Delivery
The Adirondack chair shall be delivered as an easy constriction kit in 1 box. The box weighs 20 kilos and has the sizes 95 x 52 x 23 cm.
Your parcel shall be delivered with DPD. Are you not at home and is it not possible to deliver the parcel at your neighbour’s house? Depending on the size and the weight of your parcel, it shall either be delivered the next working day or be taken to a parcel shop.
Would you like to leave a comment to the driver? (for example; your doorbell doesn’t work or your parcel can be delivered at your neighbour’s house) Please leave a note on your front door. Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to contact the driver beforehand and give him the extra information. When you would like to know more about DPD, please dont hesitate to contact us.
Assemble
To make sure that you can assemble your Adirondack chair correctly in one go, it is best not to fully tighten all the bolts and nuts straight away. By doing this, you can get all the different parts on its correct place. When you have assembled the chair completely, you can tighten all the bolds and nuts and your chair is solid and strong!
