This beautiful round table top Lucca 58 cm is made of the low-maintenance material HPL (high pressure lamination). This round table top has a trendy terrazzo print that is barely distinguishable from the real terrazzo. You get the trendy terrazzo look, but not the disadvantages. Real terrazzo is very heavy, fragile and is difficult to clean. You won’t be able to clean stains of real terrazzo. With HPL that is not an issue.
High pressure lamination (HPL) is a material that combines the benefits of wood and plastic. HPL consists of layers of paper and wood impregnated with resin. When the resin hardens, it creates a hard, very easy to clean surface. That is why HPL is being used in the catering industry, but also for kitchen worktops and building façades. HPL table tops can easily be used outside.
We see the terrazzo trend everywhere in interiors; from tiles to side tables to crockery. Terrazzo, or granite, is a speckled stone that is made from left over marble and granite that is cast in concrete. Some time ago it was invented as a solution for people who found marble too expensive. The name comes from the Italian word terrace. Nowadays, terrazzo is once again very popular with interior designers both for its looks and its sustainable character.

Material / HPL when used outside
When you choose to use HPL table tops outside, it is important that you keep in mind that bright colours will fade under the influence of difference weather influences. Just like dark colours will fade. The less patterned and the lighter the colour, the more beautiful your table top will remain.
Eventually, patterns will also fade. Cleaning the table tops weekly with a dry cloth and rubbing it in with vegetable oil will slow this process down.
HPL table tops can be cleaned easily due to its smooth and scratchproof surface. It is highly resistant to low and high temperatures. You can saw and drill in HPL, just like you can with ordinary wood.
Delivery
This round table top is delivered in one box of (L x W x H) 60 x 60 x 3 cm (6kg).
Assembly
Our HPL table tops are 12 mm thick. This 12 mm plus the thickness of the mounting plate is the desired length of screw that you will need to use. Take a margin of 3 mm to make sure you won’t screw through the table top and don’t forget to pre-drill the holes. For some extra strength, you can also use mounting adhesive between the table top and the mounting plate.
The easiest wat to mount the HPL table tops onto the (coffee table) frame, is by using 3M double sided tape. With using just a few pieces of tape, your table top will be firmly attached to the frame.
