Often, many coffee tables are made of rough-sawn mango wood, but we have deliberately chosen to use A-grade matt black pinewood veneer as this is much easier to keep clean. We have chosen for matt black table tops so you won’t have to suffer from an irritating reflection whilst watching TV. Also, dust is a lot less visible on matt black.
This set of round (coffee) table tops consists of one table top with a diameter of 58 and another of 45 cm.

Whereas many coffee tables are made of rough-sawn mango wood, we have deliberately chosen to use A-grade pinewood veneer as this is much easier to clean! Veneer is a thin layer of wood that is applied onto board material. Because veneer is real wood, it cannot be distinguished from solid wood. By applying veneer onto your furniture, you can create a wood look. Veneer is a natural product, not one table top will therefore be the same.
Why do we use veneer for our table tops instead of solid wood?
Solid wood can start warping with temperature differences and varying moisture levels in your living room. This will cause solid wood to split, splinter or warp. This won’t happen with our veneer table tops. Besides, our table tops have been treated with a coating which makes them scratch resistant and can withstand temperatures up to 60 degrees. Very convenient when you are placing hot cups of tea or coffee on your coffee table.
Please note! Our coffee table tops are made from the natural product wood. Therefore, colour differences or slight staining can never be ruled out, especially with the colour black on which everything is visible. If you find this a big problem, you are probably better off choosing a coffee table made from plastic or metal.
