Material
The Portland table base is a beautiful round black table leg made of black-coated metal.
The Java teak table top (100 cm) is handmade, making each piece unique. The teak wood used may vary in color. All our teak products come directly from the factory. As a result, there may still be some fine sawdust from sanding left on the teak table top. Therefore, before using our teak products, clean them with a damp cloth.
The teak table top is untreated and will naturally develop a beautiful gray patina over time if used outdoors. If you do not like this appearance, you can treat it with our hardwood oil. If you use our teak products indoors, it is also wise to treat them with oil to largely prevent stains from glasses or pans.
Wood is a natural material and reacts to its environment. The extent to which this occurs depends on where the table is placed. Changes in humidity and/or temperature can cause the wood to shrink or expand. Significant differences may lead to cracks or warping. For this reason, maintaining consistent temperature and humidity levels is essential. (An optimal indoor humidity level is between 50% and 60%.) Tools such as water trays on radiators or a humidifier can help maintain constant humidity.
Delivery
This metal table base is delivered in a box measuring 67 x 67 x 5 cm and weighing 30 kg, and another box measuring 76 x 10 x 9 cm and weighing 4 kg.
The round teak table top is delivered in a box measuring 105 x 105 x 5 cm and weighing approximately 20 kg.
This product is generally delivered by our carrier TSN Groen. TSN will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment. Various additional options can be booked for a small fee, such as the removal of packaging materials, a specific delivery time slot, or evening and weekend delivery.
Assembly
The Portland table base consists of three parts: an 8 mm thick solid metal base plate with a diameter of 65 cm, a 70 cm coupling piece, and a 5 mm thick solid metal plate with a diameter of 52 cm for mounting the table top.
The components are assembled using three M8x40 mm Allen bolts. Six wood screws (6x25 mm) are included for mounting the table top. A special Allen key is provided for assembling the M8x40 mm bolts.
The solid metal base plate is equipped with five handy adjustable rubber feet. These feet can be manually screwed into the threaded holes of the base plate.
