Material
The base of the table, table frame Portland, is a beautiful round black table leg that is made from black coated metal.
The teakwooden table top Java 80 cm is handmade and therefore unique. The teak wood that is used, can vary in colour. Al our teak products have come straight out of the factory. Therefore, it can happen that a fine layer of sawdust is left behind on the chair. We advise you to clean your newly purchased teak item with a damp cloth before use.
Our teak is untreated and will slowly turn into a beautiful grey colour when it is used outside. If you don’t like this, you can decide to treat your furniture with our hardwood oil. When you use our teak products indoors, it is also wise to treat them with oil. You will largely prevent staining from drink glasses or pans for example.
Wood works, the degree in which this happens, depends on the room in which the your table will be placed. As a result of changes in humidity and/or temperature, wood shrinks or expands. Large differences can lead to cracks and splits in the wood, which is why it is important to keep the temperature and humidity at a constant level. (A good humidity is between 50 and 60%). Tools to ensure a constant humidity level are water bowls for the heating or a humidifier.
Delivery
The garden table Java is delivered in 3 boxes with the following dimensions: (L x W x H) Table leg tube 76 x 10 x 9 cm (17 kg), Table leg discs 67 x 67 x 5 cm (17 kg), Tabletop 90 x 90 x 6 cm (10 kg).
Assembly
Table leg Portland consists of three parts; an 8 mm thick solid metal base plate with a diameter of 65 cm, a connection piece of 70 cm and a 5 mm thick solid plate with a diameter of diameter of 52 cm for assembling the table top.
The parts are mutually mounted with three socket head screws of M8x40mm. For mounting the table top, 6 wood screws 6x25mm are supplied. A special spanner is included for mounting the 6 M8x40 mm socket head bolts. Under the solid metal base plate you will find 5 handy adjustable rubber levellers. You manually screw these into the screw thread of the base plate.
