The Groenlo Entrepreneurs Association has designed something beautiful again! Following the success of the neighbourhood benches, which they noticed were being used a lot, they are bringing colour and tradition to the city with nine beautiful Grolse Wanten benches. These benches are located in various places in the city centre so that residents and visitors can use them.
Our metal Max garden benches are decorated with a variation of the “Grolse Wanten print”. This well-known knitting pattern is a beautiful piece of cultural heritage, which artist Natasja Scharenborg has turned into a more modern version in trendy colours. What's more, you can find out more about this cultural heritage by scanning the QR code on the benches.
During the day, these colourful additions shine at various businesses in the city centre, but in the evening they disappear from the streets. 'Everyone wants these cool benches. That's why they are brought back inside safely after closing time, so that everyone can enjoy them for a long time to come.'
