Product information
Ergonomically curved backrest and seat, wide armrests, slightly leaning backwards. These are typical features that make sitting in an original Adirondack chair feel like a warm bath. Combined with a footrest is just heaven!
For more than 75 years, the Adirondack chair is a very well-known chair in the United Stated and Canada. In those days, the rich industrials from New York had a country residence in the beautiful natural park Adirondack. In the summertime they came here with their families to enjoy the countryside. In the wintertime their staff didn’t have many jobs to do, so in the winter of 1929 some carpenters designed the Adirondack chair. The name of the area, became the name of the chair.
Nowadays you can find this chair everywhere; from the beaches of Ibiza to the veranda of a log cabin in Canada. After a long period of testing, we succeeded to reproduce the so characteristic ergonomic curves and wide armrests made from wood, in the low maintenance material HDPE plastic. With this, we dare to say that our black garden chair Montreal is the most original and comfortable plastic Adirondack chair of this moment!

Material
HDPE is the world’s most used plastic. It can be made in different colours and has, as opposed to real wood, a low-maintenance character. This material is resistant to mould and insects and it does not splinter. HDPE plastic can withstand approximately 80 degrees of heat and easily recyclable.
HDPE stands for High Density Polyethylene. This type of polyethylene owes its high density to the production conditions. Thanks to this higher density, HDPE is harder than other types of polyethylene and therefore vert suitable for intensive use, such as furniture.
One of the features of HDPE is that it can hardly be attacked chemically. Bacteria and other dirt have difficulties attaching to this polyethylene. The maintenance of a HDPE chair is limited to regular cleaning, which can be done simply and low budget with HG plastic furniture restorer.
