Autumn is around the corner. It is getting dark earlier and soon the leaves will start falling from the trees. It is about time to get your garden furniture ready for the autumn. Some people will have enough space to store furniture inside, which would be perfect! Not a lot can happen with it then. But often, people don’t have that option. So, what would then be a sensible thing to do?
Your garden furniture can stay outside, whether it is wood, plastic or aluminium. The disadvantage of this is that you will have to clean it really well when spring arrives because it has been subjected to wind, rain and dirt. You can find a wide range or maintenance products on our website, to make the cleaning of your furniture much easier. You should also bear in mind that, especially with wooden products, this will shorten the lifespan of your garden furniture!
Perhaps your garden furniture is already under a canopy. This is ideal anyway, as it means they are less affected by the weather. Do you have our Max metal furniture outside? Our advice is to store them indoors. A small scratch can rust due to the damp autumn weather and you don't want that to happen. The advantage of the Max chairs is that they are stackable and with a spray can you can easily touch up that little scratch before you store them.
Our advice is to use a garden cover if you leave your garden set or picnic table outside. This will keep your chair or picnic table free from precipitation, leaves and bird droppings.
It is important to consider the following things when using a protective cover to cover your garden furniture:
When you consider leaving your garden furniture under a cover until next year, make sure that you regularly remove the cover to ventilate your garden furniture. You might think; that sounds like a lot of hassle.. Remember that you only need to take the cover off the furniture when the sun starts shining in spring, instead of having to clean it for another 1.5 days. Then it sounds very different, right? 😉
