Material

Our balcony picnic table Vilnius 60 cm is made of wood. When you are not yet familiar with the (outdoor) use of wood, we would like to give you the information below before purchase. This is to avoid disappointment and discussion after purchase. 

Wood is a natural product that can either shrink or expand. This is caused by the variety of the moisture content. This is also known as ‘the working of wood’. When the air is very damp, there is a high chance that wood will expand. If the air humidity is continuously high, it is possible that moulds will start showing on your wooden furniture. When the air is very dry, there is a large possibility that the wood will shrink and tear. This mentioned above is a natural effect of wood, and is not a complained that can be solved. 

This natural effect of wood (also with brand new furniture) shows in the following features on which no guarantee can be given: 
- Cracks or tears in the wood 
- Warping or distortion
- Resin 
- Mould
- Discolouring

Knots can fall out, they can also leave a yellow colour behind which is caused by resin. Wood is therefore a deliberate choice of people that are familiar with the typical features and charm of this beautiful product of nature, and whom embrace these features.  

Are you not sure if you will? Then it might be better to go for polywood or aluminium instead of wood. MaximaVida aluminium- polywood garden furniture will probably fulfil your expectations better. Delivery 

The MaximaVida balcony picnic table will be delivered as an assembly kit in a box with the following measurements: 162 x 65 x 15 cm and weighs 32 kg. 

This product will be delivered with DPD. DPD will come to your door once. Are you not at home and is it not possible to deliver your parcel at your neighbours? Depending on the size and weight of your parcel, it will either be offered to you again or it will go to a parcel shop. 

Would you like to leave a comment to the driver (for example that you doorbell does not work or that it can be delivered to the neighbours)? Then please leave a note at your front door. Unfortunately it is not possible for us to hand the driver extra information before delivery. If you would like to know more about DPD, please don’t hesitate to contact us. 

Assembly 

When you start assembling the table, it is wise to not fully tighten the nuts and bolts, but loosely, so there is still some slack. Once the entire balcony picnic table is assembled, you can tighten them. Because wood expands and shrinks, we advise you to retighten all nuts and bolts about once every two months. If you are handy, you can assemble the table in about half an hour.
