Material
Our garden chair Provence is made from wood. If you are not yet familiar with the (outdoor) use of the natural product wood, we would like to give you the following information before purchase. This is to avoid disappointment and discussion after purchase.
Wood is a natural product that can either shrink or expand. This is caused by the variety of the moisture content. This is also known as ‘the working of wood’. When the air is very damp, there is a high chance that wood will expand. If the air humidity is continuously high, it is possible that moulds will start showing on your wooden furniture. When the air is very dry, there is a large possibility that the wood will shrink and tear. This mentioned above is a natural effect of wood, and is not a complained that can be solved.
This natural effect of wood (also with brand new furniture) shows in the following features on which no guarantee can be given:
- Cracks or tears in the wood
- Bending and twisting of the wood
- Resin
- Mould
- Discolouring
Knots can fall out, they can also leave a yellow colour behind which is caused by resin. For this reason, large knots are removed from our products before they are painted. The opening that is left behind, gets filled up with wood filler. As you can see on the picture attached, these former knots can start showing when the wood starts to ‘work’.
Wood is therefore a deliberate choice of people that are familiar with the typical features and charm of this beautiful product of nature, and whom embrace these features.

Delivery
The MaximaVida wooden garden chair Provence will be delivered in one box with the following measurements: 100 x 51 x 9 cm and weighs 11 kg.
This product will be delivered with DPD. DPD will come to your door once. Are you not at home and is it not possible to deliver your parcel at your neighbours? Depending on the size and weight of your parcel, it will either be offered to you again or it will go to a parcel shop.
Would you like to leave a comment to the driver (for example that you doorbell does not work or that it can be delivered to the neighbours)? Then please leave a note at your front door.
Unfortunately it is not possible for us to hand the driver extra information before delivery. If you would like to know more about DPD, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Assembly
To make sure that the chair can be put together correctly at once, please make sure that you don’t tighten the nuts and bolts completely straight away. By doing this, there is slack in the chair which means you can get all the parts in its correct position. Have you put the whole chair together and on the right places? Then you can tighten all the nuts and bolts to make your chair super solid.
